The ASEAN Navy Chiefs’ Meeting (ANCM) serves as a crucial platform for naval chiefs from ASEAN member states to convene and discuss regional security, cooperation, and maritime challenges. Hosted annually by rotating ASEAN countries, the meeting emphasizes joint exercises, information sharing, disaster response, and piracy prevention. Through collaboration and dialogue, the ANCM aims to achieve the following objectives:
The Myanmar Navy hosted the 9th ANCM and will host the upcoming 18th ANCM in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar, under the theme of “Sailing Together - Harmony to Peace and Prosperity”
The Myanmar Navy successfully hosted the 18th ANCM Staff Meeting in Nay Pyi Taw from August 22-23, 2024, with participation from all ASEAN delegates.
During the meeting, the Myanmar Navy presented the theme, detailed program for the plenary Meeting, and representatives from each ASEAN member nation provided briefings on information sharing, future activities, and plans for the 19th ANCM meeting in 2025 as well.
